My own version of the Simple Woman's Daybook for today:
Outside my window...the trees are, for the most part, bare. There are a few hold-outs but most of the color is gone. Still, there's something pretty about the bare branches against a blue sky.
I am thinking...about Thanksgiving as I plan the menu. We will get to enjoy the company of a new baby (great-niece) this year which will make the day even more special.
I am thankful for...hot tea and soup as the weather turns chilly.
From the kitchen...is a homemade pepperoni and mushroom pizza ready to put in the oven for dinner.
I am creating...more space in my closet as I go through clothes to donate to Goodwill.
I am reading...How to Write Heartfelt Letters to Treasure by Lynette M. Smith (you can see the review for this book at my book review blog).
Around the house...I see several cleaning projects to get done before Thanksgiving.
On my MP3 player this week...Jars of Clay.
One of my favorite things...cinnamon. I love just about anything with this flavor or scent.
One of my least favorite things...artificial watermelon flavor. I like the fruit itself but not anything artificially flavored like it.
Something you don't know about me...I used to be on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ (with dear hubby, after we graduated from college). We were at the headquarters when it was in San Bernardino, California.
A Simple Grace Note: Dear son's marching band made it to the state finals which will be tomorrow in Indianapolis. I'm so proud of him and the rest of the kids and am especially happy that he gets to experience this for his senior year. Unfortunately, I won't be going due to not feeling well but dear hubby will attend along with one of my sisters who lives in Indy.
My simple devotion: "The Lord bless you, and keep you; The Lord make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace." - Numbers 6:22-27.

How neat you and hubby were on Campus Crusade...you were soo close to us. We lived in Upland at the time. Congrats to your son...how fun. Sorry you will have to miss it. Hope your feeling well soon. Enjoy your week-end!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were once at Campus Crusade in San Bernardino! We lived in Yucaipa for 9 years while our kids were growing up. Steve made verrrry long commutes so that our kids could grow up in a rural community and not in LA.
ReplyDeleteThank you again for having the book sent to me. You are such a special lady!!
Hope you are feeling better, Cindy.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Nate.
