"It comes down to this. Your home is a reflection of who you are. I don't mean this in the sense that you need a showy home to prove to the world how great you are. Your home reflects your inner life. How content you are. How fulfilled you are. How loving and loved you are. Your home is the outward expression of what you value, what you enjoy, and what is important to you." - Peter Walsh,
It's All Too Much
Thinking about what my home says about me. I think it says I'm someone who likes doing things other than housework.
That could probably be said of most of us Cindy. :) I love the pillow you pictured. Many years ago I made a pillow similar to that but over the years it has been lost. I think it's time to do another! blessings, marlene
ReplyDeletelol - I was thinking ouch as I read this ... I like to read and write rather than housework too ... but I do need to get my b*tt in gear - lol
ReplyDeleteGreat quote and something to really think about!
Me too! I begged my husband to clean my bathroom last night;well, actually I asked him to clean the floor. He did it all. What a guy!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently looking at my paneled walls (parsonage you know); not sure it says a whole lot about me, but it certainly does say something about its age!

LOL...I use to be a neat nick and now I do a hit and miss most of the time and an occasional deep clean...those back roads call loudly and I feel the memory's I make while on them are more important than a clean house. I kind of think a messy house may actually be a better sign of how content one is...it shows you are spending time with what you value, love, and is important to you.
ReplyDeletei hope mine says, "come on in and
ReplyDeletethrow your stuff in the corner. fall
into my couch and help yourself
to anything in the pantry!
I tend to clean a part of the house every day so that there isn't a huge job on any one day. However, when we have family and friends over, everything gets set aside and I don't care about the messes, just the fun.
ReplyDeleteI really love that pillow also.
Hahahahahaha! I believe I'm in GOOD company here!
ReplyDeletehaha! - Mine reveals how much I hate bookkeeping - (not a good thing for someone running their own business. lol!)
ReplyDeleteYour words are so true! Even though we moved into a small condo with me not very happy at first, it's becoming like a home. Putting personal touches in any place makes it more homey and reflects our personality. Upon unpacking many boxes, I found that the majority were photos, writings and cookware. That says something about me I guess.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,
Debbie
This is a good post...I have noticed that my home also reflects when I am feeling discouraged...it seems to reflect my ups and downs. I will have music pumped through the house, it will be picked up, and something being cooked and created going on my ups...if I am down, it becomes neglected.
ReplyDeleteThanks...I need to remember it also affects my family when my home reflects my ups and downs.
